  • Tara Crites

    Instructor

Tara Crites was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and loves to call it home. Her talent in dance studies and performance awarded her full scholarships to California Summer School for the Arts (CSSA) where she attended in 1999. This is where she met master pilates instructor, Marie-Jose Blom and began studying dance conditioning techniques. After finishing the CSSA program it inspired Tara to obtain admission to California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts) where she continued to study dance performance and production in its highly regarded programs. She furthered her knowledge in dance by attending The Harkness Center for Dance Injuries, Foundations Course, at NYU Hospital. She also enjoys being a certified Gyrotonic (R) instructor and brings the delicate dance of spiral energy into her work as well. Today her favorite dance is Argentine Tango and you can find her at the local Milongas and weekly classes. Tango is her new addiction and of course she brings her postural and strength goals into that community as well. When you get to know her, you will discover her love for cats and she might tell you that she binges on cute kitty videos almost daily. Tara Crites is dedicated to being a pioneer for safe and effective exercise. She encourages mind-body connection and is true to her beliefs of challenging movement without the extreme tension or injury risk. Clients appreciate her entertaining style of cueing because her use of imagery imprints functional posture into the brain. This approach helps a client fully understand the anatomy of their body and the manner they should move through space or equipment. Her postural problem solving skills help the body feel connected to pure core muscles, establishing a foundation upon which people soar. Tara aspires to motivate all types of individuals by providing experience, knowledge, and custom care to their fitness ambitions. “My philosophy when instructing Pilates is to remain accurate yet creative. I am a scientist with the spirit of an artist and I make every effort to blend them seamlessly.” - Tara Crites

  • Suquoia Geary

    Senior Sales Representative

Suquoia is originally from San Diego but has called Los Angeles home since she graduated from Penn State in 2014. She found her love for Pilates as a way to stay in shape during her summers home from college. Previously a runner and a swimmer, she was drawn to Pilates because of the low impact and quick results! In 2017, she left her job in entertainment to pursue her true passion, Pilates. She got her 500-hour comprehensive certification through Club Pilates and has built up her class schedule since then. When she's not on the reformer you can probably find her on the beach, hiking or looking for inspiration to keep her classes versatile and to keep her clients coming back for more! She loves quick paced, high intensity classes (set to a fun playlist, of course!) that keep your heart rate up and leave you feeling accomplished and happy!

  • Amira Samuel

    Instructor

Amira is a California native who spent the last 10 years living the relentless, unforgiving and totally magical grind of New York City. She made it back back to Cali Cali, but will have you sweating in a New York minute! She first started practicing Pilates in 2009 at Core Pilates NYC. From her first class, she was hooked and faithfully worked on her own practice in the classical mat systems. But it wasn’t until Pilates helped her recover from surgery that she decided to pursue Pilates professionally and learn all apparatus. Law degree notwithstanding, Amira enrolled in the Core Pilates NYC 600-hour comprehensive teacher training program. Through that program, she gained an in depth understanding of the way Pilates advocates for the body, both on and off the mat. She can talk endlessly about her passion for Pilates, loves taking classes and fully geeks out about variations and modifications. Her teaching philosophy is to keep classes fun and challenging so that you leave each class feeling both accomplished and aspirational. She also can’t say no to peanut butter, loves hosting dinner parties and takes her playlists very seriously.
